Some of the labs below are being updated and included in a new book: Click here for the latest update |
||
| Experiment 1: Power Control Methods | Theswitching properties of an electromagnetic relay and a MOSFET transistor are investigated. Pulse width modulation (PWM) is also introduced. | |
| Experiment 2: Power Control Methods / TRIAC | AC power is controlled using a TRIAC. Also, Making measurements in a circuit that has two different grounds is demonstrated. | |
| Experiment 3: Switch Mode Boost Converter | This boost converter converts a 6 volt DC power supply to a 12 to 18 volt DC power supply. | |
| Experiment 4: Temperature Controller | Temperature of a small oven is controlled by a two point, Schmitt trigger, controller. | |
| Experiment 5: Proportional Temperature Control | Temperature of a small oven is controlled. Experiment demonstrates proportion control mode. | |
| Experiment 6: Tachometer / DC Motor | A frequency to voltage converter is built and calibrated to produce an output of 1 volt per 1000 rpm. The characteristics of the motor are measured. | |
| Experiment 7: PID Motor Speed Control | A PID circuit is added to experiment 6. Response of the control system is evaluated for proportional mode, proportional plus integral mode, and PID mode. | |
| Experiment 11: PSpice ABM P and PI Mode | PSpice Analog Behavior Model of a proportional and proportional plus integral feedback control system. | |
| Control System Basics | Learn by LTspice simulation, experiment, or both. | |
